Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Broad Daylight: Hamden Police

A 20-year-old man was robbed by two suspects as he was walking toward his home Sunday afternoon in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A man was robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two suspects as he was walking toward his home Sunday afternoon in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded to Hubbard Place around 3:15 p.m. on the report of an armed street robbery. The 20-year-old victim told police he was approached by two men as he was walking toward his home, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

One of the men pointed a gun at the victim, while demanding his personal items, according to Smith. The victim then pushed the gunman, Smith said.

The other man then “pulled out a knife” and punched the victim several times in the face and knocked him to the ground, according to Smith.

The suspects stole the victim’s backpack, headphones and wallet after rummaging through his pockets, Smith said. They left the area in a dark-colored vehicle.

The victim, who sustained injuries to his eye, lips and face, was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue.
