Man Shot Several Times Outside Bar In Hamden: Police

The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being shot several times while standing in front of a bar on Dixwell Avenue late Tuesday night, according to police. Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Collins Street at about 12 a.m. on March 14 on the report of shots fired, according to Sgt. Anthony Diaz. A victim was located in the area, according to Diaz.

Diaz said investigation revealed that an adult male victim was standing in front of Charlie and James Bar, located at 1350 Dixwell Avenue, when he was shot several times. The victim was treated by Hamden Fire Rescue personnel and transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Diaz.

The investigation is being conducted by Detective Joseph Liguori of the Major Crimes Unit and anyone with information is asked to call (203) 407-3190.
