Man Threatened Woman With Knife: Hamden Police
Police say the man is accused of threatening a female family member with a knife during a domestic dispute.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man is accused of threatening a female family member with a knife during a domestic dispute on Sunday night, according to police. There were no reported injuries, police said.
At about 7:45 p.m. on June 4, Hamden Police responded to Woodin Street home on the report of a domestic dispute, according to Sgt. Anthony Diaz. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Diaz said responding officers were told that a knife was involved in the incident and that the person who threatened the use of the knife had left the residence on foot. A man who matched the description of the person was located on Woodin Street and detained, according to Diaz.

Diaz said further investigation revealed that Jermaine Smith, 45, had an argument with a family member that escalated into him threatening her while holding a knife.
Smith, of 265 Woodin Street in Hamden, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening. He was detained on a $5,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Monday.
