Man Tries To Steal $900 In Power Tools, Flees In Mercedes: Hamden

Hamden Police are asking for help with identifying a man who tried to steal $900 worth of power tools from Home Depot and fled in a Mercedes

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man they say tried to steal about $900 worth of power tools from The Home Depot in Hamden last month. The incident occurred Nov. 19 at the store located at 1873 Dixwell Ave.

The suspect, described as a tall white man who was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt, tried to steal about $900 worth of power tools and accessories, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said a store Loss Prevention Officer intervened and was successful at recovering the stolen merchandise. The suspect then left the area in a silver Mercedes Benz.
