Mishkan Israel Names New Religious School Director
"Home grown educator" will take over the synagogue's school.

Michelle Goldstein, a special education teacher in a local school system, has been selected as the new Religious School Director at the in on Ridge Road.
Goldstein, who has also served as a program director at several summer camps, a youth group advisor and a long time teacher in Congregation Mishkan Israel’s Religious School, earned a BA in English and a BS in Elementary/Special Education from the University of Hartford and a Masters of Education from the University of Phoenix.
Citing her energy and enthusiasm, competence and creativity, commitment and continuity, the board unanimously chose Goldstein, a “home grown educator” who grew up in the congregational community.

“Her energy, enthusiasm, creativity and love of Judaism can be seen in all her work,” says Rabbi Herbert N. Brockman. “We take much pride in her accomplishments and feel secure that, under her direction and with the support and dedication of our extraordinary faculty, our Religious School and its programs will continue to thrive and, in fact, grow from strength to strength.”
“I look forward to the smiling faces of our students and observing the incredible teaching provided by our faculty," Goldstein said. "Our community is blessed to have so many caring and dedicated educators standing at the front of their classrooms and I feel it is a privilege to be able to lead them.”
