New Details To Be Released In Fatal Shooting In Hamden: Police
Police will provide an update regarding an ongoing homicide investigation in Hamden, according to officials.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden police will release new details regarding a fatal shooting that happened on Mix Avenue last month.
Police will hold a press conference on Friday, Feb. 13, to provide an update on the fatal shooting that took place on Jan. 17, according to officials.
The press conference will take place at 11 a.m. at the Hamden Police Department, 2900 Dixwell Ave., according to Hamden Police Lt. Robert Manfield.

“During the briefing, department officials will share available details related to the incident and outline the ongoing investigative efforts,” Manfield wrote in an email. “Due to the active nature of the investigation, some information may be limited.
“Additional updates will be provided as they become available.”

The fatal shooting happened in broad daylight in the 500 block of Mix Avenue in Hamden on Jan. 17.
While police haven’t released the victim’s identity, Hamden resident Keyna Washington has told multiple news outlets that her 18-year-old son, Keyvon Washington, was killed in the shooting.
