Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Hamden: Police

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck while crossing the street on Thursday morning, police said.

HAMDEN, CT — A 30-year-old Hamden man suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Thursday morning, according to police. At about 8 a.m. on Jan. 25, police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Skiff Street on the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that a 30-year-old Hamden resident was crossing Skiff Street when he was struck by a motor vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The victim was not in the established crosswalk at the time of impact, according to Smith.

Hamden Fire Rescue rendered medical assistance and the victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition, Smith said.
