Quinnipiac Students Receive Hands On Government Experience
Tymothee Kelley Anderson was amongst the ten students who spent their summer receiving hands on municipal government experience.

From QU: New Haven native Tymothee Kelley Anderson is one of 10 Quinnipiac University students who have spent the summer getting a first-hand look at how municipal government works.
Anderson, right, is working with the Hamden Police Department and Chief Thomas Wydra, left.
The students are part of the university's Presidential Public Service Fellowship Program, an initiative by the university that gives students the opportunity to work in municipal government offices with a department head as a mentor-supervisor. The fellowship is supported by a generous financial donor trust and the federal work-study program.

“Any experience in which I can use my knowledge to better a community is one that I'd say is my best professional experience to date," Anderson said.
The fellowship program began at Quinnipiac in 2003 and gives students the opportunity to work in municipal government offices with a department head as a mentor-supervisor. Fellows are expected to report on their progress bi-weekly and to prepare major reports for the towns. Official presentations will be made Aug. 4.
