Shoplifting Hamden Man Makes A Run For It: Orange Police
Police said they saw the man running from a store employee and they were able to apprehend the suspect.

ORANGE, CT — A Hamden man is accused of shoplifting and running from a store employee in Orange, police said. On Dec. 2, officers responded to Target, 25 Boston Post Road in regard to a shoplifting complaint involving a fleeing male, police said.
Officers in the area saw a man, Gary E. Abbenante, 50, of Hamden, running from the Loss Prevention Associate, police said. Officers were able to stop the man, police said. It was discovered that he stole $362.62 worth of merchandise, police said.
He was taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal trover. He was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
