Yet Another Seafood Restaurant In Hartford Has Shuttered
The owner cited the rapid decline of business post-pandemic and has closed both locations in Hartford.
HARTFORD, CT — Another Hartford seafood restaurant has closed in town, with the owners of J's Crab Shack shuttering both of its locations this month.
The owners operated eateries at 2074 Park St., as well as at the Parkville Market food court.
They told the Hartford Courant that, simply,the eatery never recovered from the impacts of the pandemic and it wasn't making enough money.

In addition to seafood, the restaurant was known for live musical performances at its main site.
J's Crab Shack is the second prominent seafood eatery to close or announce its closing in Hartford.

The owners of the Chowder Pot of Hartford on Brainerd Road announced that restaurant's closure sometime next month, citing expensive facility issues required to maintain the building.
That location appears destined to become a legal marijuana growing and retail operation.
The crab house's closure comes the same month that another iconic Hartford restaurant, The Half Door on Sisson Avenue announced it was closing Jan. 23.
The Irish pub's corporate owner said it could not strike a deal with the landlord of the property and its looking at reopening at another location, perhaps out of town, later this year.
