Hartford Police Take Stolen Firearm from Convicted Felon
The man has been arrested 68 times by Hartford police, and was in possession of a gun that had been stolen nearly a quarter century ago.
HARTFORD, CT — A recent increase of firearm-related incidents in the city's North End resulted in a "Hotspot "detail Thursday which culminated in the arrest of a convicted felon.
Police officers observed a group of individuals in front of 10 Marshall Street around 9:29 p.m., with one male exhibiting signs of being in possession of a firearm, including repeatedly adjusting the front of his waistband, Deputy Chief Brian Foley said.
As officers approached, the group began to quickly disperse and leave the immediate area. Officers were able to detain the male who had been acting suspiciously as he entered a parked vehicle. Upon conducting a pat down of the male's outer garments, an item consistent with that of a firearm was detected and a fully loaded .357 Magnum Ruger GP100 was recovered from his waistline, Foley said.

The Ruger was later determined to have been stolen in Hartford in 1992, and the male was determined to be a convicted felon with an extensive firearm arrest history with the Hartford Police Department, Foley said.
Brian Perry, 47, of 41 Judson Ave., East Hartford, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. He was held on $400,000 bond.
