1. 21 New Bus Shelters Installed In Hartford; 47 More In The Works (patch.com) — Hartford bus riders now have 21 new shelters across the city, with 47 more in design as part of a broader Greater Hartford Mobility Program. City and state officials say the upgrades aim to give residents a safer, more dignified transit experience, improving comfort at busy bus stops that serve thousands of riders each year.

Hartford is among the worst cities in the US for people with asthma, group says (ctpublic.org) — Hartford has been ranked the eighth most challenging U.S. city for people with asthma, with especially high asthma rates and deaths tied to poverty and poor air quality. Local doctors describe how pollution settles over the Connecticut River Valley and disproportionately harms low-income residents, while Hartford hospitals expand evidence-based asthma programs and urge vaccinations as ER visits typically spike in September.
   

4. After six years, Carbone's set to reopen its doors in Hartford (nbcconnecticut.com) — Carbone's is reopening this Friday at 39 Front Street in downtown Hartford, bringing back its classic Italian-American dishes in a modernized space across from the Convention Center. After closing its Franklin Avenue location in 2020, the family-owned restaurant is launching with a soft opening this week, a new lounge, and a focus on welcoming both longtime patrons and younger diners.
   

5. Town of West Hartford Continuing Restoration of Memorial and Isham Garages - We-Ha (we-ha.com) — If you park at West Hartford's Memorial or Isham garages, expect continued construction as the town finishes structural repairs at Memorial this month and shifts work to Isham decks through the fall. Elevator and escalator modernizations, including the Webster Walk elevator, are also progressing in phases to improve safety, accessibility, and traffic flow while limiting parking disruptions.
