Pump Station Completed For Massive Hartford Sewer Tunnel Project (patch.com) — Hartford residents are seeing major progress on the South Hartford Conveyance and Storage Tunnel as a $138 million pump station on Brainard Road is officially completed. The new facility will help move up to 41.5 million gallons of combined wastewater and stormwater to the Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility, significantly reducing sewage overflows into local rivers and improving water quality for Hartford and downstream communities.

Hartford leaders reinforce board's powers to investigate police misconduct (ctpublic.org) — Hartford city leaders have just voted to give the Civilian Police Review Board clearer power to obtain internal police records, compel testimony, and push misconduct cases to arbitration when the chief disagrees. The move follows months of clashes with the police union and department, and comes after residents and the inspector general pressed the council to restore the board's ability to conduct meaningful oversight.

High school students get hands-on experience in healthcare as part of ReadyCT program (wtnh.com) — High school students from across Connecticut, including Hartford Public High School, spent Friday at Hartford Hospital getting hands-on exposure to healthcare careers through the ReadyCT program. The Create Your Path: Careers in HealthCare Summit let students shadow staff, tour departments, and learn about internships, all aimed at connecting classroom lessons with real-world job skills local employers need.
