HARTFORD, CT — A unique culinary chain is coming to the University of Connecticut's Hartford campus at the Old Hartford Times building. Rush Bowls will fill one of the first major ground-floor vacancies near the main entrance along Front Street.
The "new" Hartford location is listed on the Rush Bowls website. UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said the franchise would be a welcome addition to the campus and referred all specific questions to the developer, Greenwich-based HB Nitkin.
The Front Street corridor is prominently featured on the Nitkin website.

HB Nitkin's Peter Chrtistian was unavailable Tuesday to go over a specific timetable. Some close to the project said the ideal scenario would be to open by the time classes start for the fall semester.
Rush Bowls was launched in 2004, when its founder, Andrew Pudalov, decided he'd had enough of New York’s financial scene.

He decided to open a "healthy, fast-dining restaurant that fueled people’s lives with honest ingredients and delicious recipes."
The first Rush Bowls opened in Boulder, Colorado, offering meals crafted from the finest fruit, topped with granola & honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients that taste delicious while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The bowls combine five or more fruits and vegetables.
Most franchises are in college towns, according to the franchise website.
