Vernon Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Crash In Hartford: Police
The accident happened at 11:13 p.m. Thursday on Route 5/15.
HARTFORD, CT — A 23-year-old Vernon woman was killed in a head-on, wrong-way crash in Hartford late Thursday night.
According to Connecticut State Police, Kelly Lynn Caldwell, 23, of Morrison Street, Vernon, was killed in a head-on collision on Route 5/15 in Hartford at 11:13 p.m. Thursday.
Police said Caldwell was driving the wrong way on the highway at the time of the accident.

According to the state police accident report released Friday morning, a 2020 Infiniti being driven by a 31-year-old East Hartford woman was traveling south on Route 5/15 just south of Exit 90.
That's when police said the 2011 Honda Civic — being driven by Caldwell on the wrong way of the highway "for an unknown reason" — slammed into the Infiniti head-on.

The East Hartford woman was taken to Hartford Hospital with suspected minor injuries, police said.
Caldwell, according to police, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Hartford Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
