West Hartford Man Charged In Death Of Hartford Hoops Coach: Reports

The 41-year-old man was charged in connection to a March 31 hit-and-run accident in Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford man has been charged in connection with the deadly March 31 hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a beloved high school basketball coach in Hartford.

WFSB Channel 3, citing the Hartford Police Department, reports that Jaimuse Workman, 41, has been taken into custody and charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle; evading a scene involving a death; and reckless driving.

Workman is being charged in the death of Kendall May, 56, of Bloomfield, who was the longtime boys basketball coach at A.I. Prince Technical High School in Hartford.

He died after being struck by a vehicle on Main Street in Hartford.

Fox 61 reported that detectives from the Hartford Police Department's Crime Scene Division were able to secure an arrest warrant for Workman after an "extensive investigation."

The suspect is being held on $100,000 bond for his charges after being taken into custody by the Hartford Police Department's Fugitive Task Force, Fox 61 reported.
