The Patch Voter's Guide For Madison's 2021 Election

MADISON, CT — Tuesday, Madison voters go to the polls to decide who will be sworn in as First Selectman, and members of the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Board of Assessment Appeals and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, but voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes.

You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters, standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.

The choice for First Selectman is between incumbent Democrat Peggy Lyons and Republican Bruce Wilson. Vote for one.

The choices for Board of Selectman are Democrat Scott Murphy and Democrat Al Goldberg and Republican Noreen Kokoruda and Republican Joe Bunovsky. Vote for up to two

The choices for Board of Finance are Democrat Katie Stein, Democrat Cindy Breckheimer, Republican Jean Fitzgerald, Democrat Jude H. Friedman, and Republican Happy Marino. Vote for up to three.

The choices for Board of Education are Democrats Maureen Hackett Lewis, Emily Rosenthal and Steven Pynn and Republicans Jennifer Gordon, Mary Ann Connelly, and Christine Ann Maisano. Not more than three from one office; vote for up to five.

The Board of Assessment Appeals candidates are Democrat Shirley Taylor and Republican Bill Lewis. Vote for one.

The Zoning Board of Appeals candidates are Democrats Richard Gilbert and Jason Brown and Republican Ernie Lacore. Vote for up to two.

The unchallenged Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate candidate is Democrat Steven Bischoff.
