When I did a mortgage for Kay, she had started her business two years earlier, she was experiencing growing pains and her income was marginal to get her qualified for a mortgage, but we got it done even though it wasn’t easy.
In 2013, she paid $135,000 in Federal income tax, the year I did her mortgage, she paid $5,000. I loved her business model at the time as she felt she would be one of those businesses that make it. She has lived in the same home ever since and was now ready to purchase another home. She will be putting more down then she will sell her current home.
Her mission was to build a business, her business is built on 100% referral, a conversation we spoke about many times over the last 5 years. Kay was originally referred by her attorney and as luck would have it, by her accountant. Over the last 5 years she has referred many of her employees and friends.
Having a little faith in someone, when they need the most will go a long way.
