Manchester Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Files of suspected child pornography were found on the suspect's computer in his Manchester home.

A 24-year-old Manchester resident has been charged with possession of child pornography.

Nicholas B. Burnham of 382 Main Street was charged Wednesday with first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

He was released after posting $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Dec. 15.

According to a police report, the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit began an investigation into the sharing of child pornography over the Internet in May 2015. The investigation traced Internet activity to Burnham’s Manchester address.

On Wednesday, members of the Computer Crimes Unit and Manchester police executed a search warrant at the home, and several items of evidentiary value were seized. Investigators conducted an on-scene examination of Burnham’s computer and located files of suspected child pornography, the report says.

Burnham was arrested without incident and transported to State Police Troop H in Hartford for processing.
