One Sentenced, Another Convicted in 2014 Manchester Death

A man convicted of beating another man to death inside a Manchester motel was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison, the Journal Inquirer reported.

Lorenzo Hernandez, 22, was sentenced in Hartford Superior Court after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter and third-degree burglary.

A second man, Benjamin Thibodeau, 40, of Manchester, reached a plea agreement in which he was convicted of second-degree hindering prosecution. He will be sentenced Dec. 11.

The two were charged in connection with the death of Bienvenido “Peter” Tosado in March 2014 at the Manchester Inn.
