Meriden’s Weekend Weather and Snow Flurries Possible Monday

For the first weekend in December the forecast in Connecticut is nothing we can complain about. It’s going to be sunny and not overly cold, but there is a chance for some snow flurries for the return to work, according to WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote on social media that we should “Plan on a cold wind today. Dry weather today right through Sunday! I'm expecting some flurries and may be a dusting on early Monday morning.”

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan says the warmer temps won’t last forever.

“If you like cold - we've got some good news for you. A surge of winter cold is on the way across the country in about a week. Here's a look at some of our new computer models showing a big pattern change.” You can read Ryan’s weather blog here.

Here’s a detailed look at the upcoming weather forecast via the National Weather Service:

Friday: Sunny, high near 50 with winds increasing at times.

Saturday: More sun, temps near 48 on the coast and 44 inland.

Sunday: Cooler on Sunday, more sun, temps in the low to mid 40s.

Next storm chance?

Besides some flurries and a possible dusting of snow early Monday as Simmons wrote about, we could see some rain and snow on Wednesday night and into Thursday. Again, it’s so far into the future that no one knows what will happen. Currently, as forecast, it looks like rain largely on the coast and a possible mix inland, which would include rain, sleet, and snow.
