Recent Shootings in Meriden Prompt Increase in Police Patrols
Five people have been shot in two separate incidents in the downtown area this month.

MERIDEN, CT - Recent shootings in downtown Meriden reportedly have prompted the police department to increase patrols through the area.
On Wednesday, two men were wounded in a drive-by shooting on Randolph Avenue, and earlier this month three people were shot at the Noiise sports bar, which the city subsequently shut down.
Meriden Mayor Kevin Scarpati told the Record-Journal that he is working with police officials on increasing the patrols, a move that has been requested by some residents in the area.
