Best-Selling Author Ed Yong on His New Book: “An Immense World”

On Community Health Center

We’re excited Pulitzer Prize winner Ed Yong gave “Conservations on Health Care” a preview of his then-upcoming book. Now, the book is out and his words resonate more than ever. “An Immense World” is a New York Times best seller and the Times reviewer said it’s “a thrilling tour of nonhuman perception.” He tells hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter (beginning at 29:00 at the link below) that he wants the book to be a “source of joy” at a time of so much darkness. Hear Yong’s full interview as he describes the book that aims to coax us “beyond the confines of our own senses to encounter beetles that are drawn to fires, turtles that can track the Earth’s magnetic fields, fish that fill rivers with electrical messages, and even humans who wield sonar like bats.”
