Cancer Center to Host Prevention Day

Learn about ways to stay healthy and prevent disease

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center will sponsor a special event entitled, “Healthy Living Through Prevention — The Way to Wellness” on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, 55 Bridge Road, Haddam.

Small groups will be guided through four separate education stations, including: food and nutrition; naturopathic physician tips for health and wellness; colon health; and mindfulness through meditation and Tai Chi Chih. Blood pressure and bone density screenings will also be offered. Exhibitors will include Whole Foods, Ava Anderson Non-Toxic, and the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center.

Due to the extensive focus this year on health education and disease prevention, there is not enough time in the program to offer free, integrative therapy sessions as in the past. However, information about the benefits of integrative therapies will be available.
