Convicted Felon Arrested On Drug, Gun Charges: Middletown Police

Police executed a raid on the man's home in connection with an investigation into cocaine and fentanyl sales in Middletown, officials said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A convicted felon was recently arrested on drug and gun charges after a raid on his home in connection with a drug investigation, according to police.

Middletown police detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Stevens Lane on Nov. 10 after an investigation into cocaine and fentanyl sales in and around Middletown, according to police.

Richard Vallillo, 36, was the target of the investigation and he was found at the home along with several other people, police said.

During a search of the home, police found a “Kel-Tec shotgun, a Springfield XD-5 9mm handgun with obliterated serial number, and numerous rounds of live ammunition,” according to a news release.

Police also found “psilocybin mushrooms, crack cocaine that contained fentanyl, cocaine, cocaine that contained fentanyl, THC concentrate containing fentanyl, multiple different types of assorted narcotic pills, LSD tabs, as well as packaging material, evidence of drug sales, drug manufacturing and a large sum of U.S. currency," the news release states.

The seized cocaine was valued at more than $17,000, while the other drugs seized in the raid were worth “several more thousands of dollars,” according to police.

Police said Vallillo was arrested on more than 20 drug and weapon-related charges. He was being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond with a court date of Nov. 29, according to state judicial records.
