Man Charged In 2 Shootings In Meriden: Police (patch.com) — A Middletown resident has been charged in connection with two separate shootings in Meriden after police linked a seized firearm to shell casings from both scenes. The 23-year-old is facing multiple serious charges, including attempted first-degree assault and weapons offenses, and is being held on a total of $1 million bond. No injuries or motive details were reported.
   

2. RTX Pratt & Whitney Wins $240.8M Navy Modification for F135 Engine Development (envzone.com) — Middletown is one of several sites where Pratt & Whitney will work on a $240.8 million Navy contract to further develop and upgrade the F135 engine used in F-35 jets. The bulk of the work will occur in East Hartford, but a notable share is slated for Middletown and other Connecticut locations through 2028.

Man in Hartford charged after police find stolen gun (darientimes.com) — Hartford police say they recovered a semi-automatic handgun that had been reported stolen from Middletown after a man allegedly fled officers and ditched a backpack. The suspect was arrested following a brief foot chase and now faces several firearm and trespassing charges. Middletown residents may want to note that a locally stolen gun was involved.
   

4. Bill Maher blasts profs for trashing western civilization, Israel (amedpost.com) — Middletown gets a national shout-out as Bill Maher jokes about visiting Wesleyan University's campus while debating its president, Michael Roth, over how professors and students view Western civilization and Israel.
