MxCC Invites Public to Free Seminar Sept. 21 on Tick-Borne Diseases

The Connecticut Entomological Society will host a free seminar at Middlesex Community College on September 21 on the emergence of tick-borne diseases, including Lyme disease, in the United States.  Dr. Maria Diuk-Wasser, assistant professor of epidemiology at Yale University School of Public Health, will speak about expansion of these diseases and risks, along with recent findings on the relative role of entomological, landscape and human behavior in Lyme disease risk on Block Island, Rhode Island. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held September 21 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. in Chapman Hall, Rm. 808 C & D, on the Middletown campus.  Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to Chapman Hall.
