Fire Destroys Condo Units In Middletown, Alarm System Praised
A fire raged through a building at a Middletown condo complex early Thursday morning.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A fire ripped through a condominium complex in Middletown early Thursday morning and left several people displaced and a half-dozen units wrecked completely, Westfield Fire Department officials said.
In the same breath, the department's deputy chief praised the alarm system at the Pepper Mill Village condos on Burgundy Hill Lane, which recently underwent an extensive inspection.
"Everyone was able to get out safely and that means the alarm system worked the way it is supposed to work," Westfield FD Assistant Chief Phil Coco told Patch. "It saved everybody."
