Fireside at Wadsworth Mansion

The Wadsworth Mansion welcomes storyteller Tom Lee, guitartist Frank Schwartz, and harpist Teresa Whitaker for a folktale driven holiday performance on Sunday, December 13th, 2015 at 3pm. Holiday refreshments and wine will be served following the performance. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children between the ages of six and twelve. Seating is limited. As the holidays grow ever closer, the spirit of the season inevitably becomes muddied with frantic shopping, obligatory gatherings, and competitive decorating, to the point where it can be difficult to remember why this was all fun in the first place. You find yourself trying to recall the feelings of relaxation and merriment, as you hopelessly circle the parking lot one more time. Enter Tom Lee, who knows a thing or two about quieting the proverbial noise by inviting listeners to join him as he travel back to eras gone by. Tom is a professional storyteller with twenty years of experience performing time-honored stories, folktales and myths from cultures around the world; some are centuries old, some originated thousands of years ago.

Tom is a frequent guest artist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he brings together his passion for research, art, story, and for connection with new audiences. In addition, he is a performing arts partner with the Yale Center for British Art and the Metropolitan Opera Education Conference.

Enhancing Tom’s storytelling with their voices and instruments will be Frank Shwartz and Teresa Whitaker, on guitar and harp respectively. Their musical stylings will not only fill the Wadsworth Mansion with holiday music, but help the magic of the stories come to life.
