MIDDLETOWN, CT — A warrant accuses a New York City teen of spying on students in Wesleyan University housing units, Middletown police said.

On Monday, Middletown police arrested 19-year-old Samuel Schumann, also known as Samuel "VuVu," of Brooklyn, NY, after obtaining a warrant charging Schumann with 31 counts of voyeurism, according to a news release.

The charges stem from multiple incidents that occurred between September and October within dormitories on the Wesleyan campus, where Schumann was a student at the time, according to a news release.

Once university officials became aware of the incidents, they took "immediate action, contacted police, and fully cooperated with the investigation," police said.

Detectives assigned to the Middletown Police Special Investigations Unit conducted an extensive investigation, identifying nineteen 19 female victims, most of whom were students, who were secretly recorded in campus bathrooms.
