Dear Friends,
On this Veterans Day, CCEH salutes all those who have served our country in the U.S. Armed Forces. We thank them for their service. At the same time, we extend to CCEH members and our colleagues our heartfelt gratitude for your help to veterans facing homelessness. We are grateful for Connecticut’s team serving veterans facing homelessness across the state -- from homeless outreach teams and frontline staff of shelters and soup kitchens to those securing permanent housing options for veterans in need. We thank all our friends and colleagues: nonprofit providers, Governor Dan Malloy and our colleagues from the CT Departments of Housing (DOH), Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), and Veteran Affairs (DVA); the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); and the staffs of our state’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) programs.Together, we have made CT the first state to end chronic homelessness among veterans. Together, we will end all veteran homelessness --one person at a time. Together, we honor our veterans by ensuring that all who have served have a place to call home. Many thanks to each of you, for all you do, every day.
