The Greater Middletown Relay For Life will be held this Saturday

The Greater Middletown Relay For Life will be held this Sat June 11 thru Sun June 12 at Woodrow Wilson Track in Middletown

The American Cancer Society Greater Middletown Relay For Life will be held this Saturday, June 11 from 10:00am through Sunday, June 12 till 10:00am at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School track on Hunting Hill Avenue in Middletown.

Relay For Life is an overnight event that joins the American Cancer Society with our local community in the fight against cancer. It is a way to CELEBRATE cancer survivors, REMEMBER loved ones, and FIGHT BACK against a disease that takes too much from too many!

The event is FREE, open to the public, register at the gate and join in the relay fun event highlights include:

Saturday: Opening Ceremonies, 3:00pm

Survivor events, 5:00pm, survivor speaker, first lap & annual survivor dinner

Torch and Luminaria Ceremony, 9:00pm

Fight Back 9:30pm

Sunday: Closing ceremonies, awards, prize drawings 9:30am

Final lap 9:50am

This years relay event will have awesome entertainment, dance teams, martial arts demonstrations, hourly theme laps, Zumba, teamsite contests, team banner lap, on site fundraisers, concessions with food and drinks, relay store with items to purchase, overnight movies, relay jail, Mr and Mrs Relay, games and fun for the entire family!

We are pleased to announce opening ceremonies include the Middletown Color Guard, MPB Bagpipes & Drums, MPD Motorcycle, Nicole Onas singing National Anthem and official City welcome from Mayor Dan Drew.

This year a special dedication & award to Bobbi Eddinger who we lost recently. The award to be presented to her family, "To Bobbi Eddinger- for her continued support with beautiful blooms to honor cancer survivors and caretakers at the Relay For Life of Greater Middletown each year" Blue ribbons will be available at registration to wear for those who wish to honor her.

Luminaria bags will be available at the Relay Store till 6:00 pm on Saturday, Luminaria bags light the entire track at night during relay, the bags are in honor of or in memory of a loved one touched by cancer.

Come Saturday or Sunday morning, walk a lap or two, make a donation, volunteer signup for next year and join in on the many event festivities!
