Leslie Jamison Reads at Wesleyan University

Writing at Wesleyan presents novelist and essayist Leslie Jamison

Award-winning author Leslie Jamison will read from her work on Wednesday, October 28th, 2015, at 8:00 pm in Wesleyan University’s Russell House, 350 High Street, Middletown, CT.

Leslie Jamison’s collection of essays, The Empathy Exams, won the Graywolf Press Nonfiction Prize and was named one of the best books of 2014 by NPR, The New York Times, and Publishers Weekly. The collection has been described as “a heady and unsparing examination of pain and how it allows us to understand others, and ourselves” by Publisher’s Weekly and “a soaring performance on the humanizing effects of empathy” by NPR. Her novel, The Gin Closet, was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Art Seidenbaum First Fiction Award.
