Man Carjacked At Gunpoint In Middletown: Police
The suspects were in a stolen car that was believed to be used in armed robberies in other towns after the Middletown incident, police said.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A man was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint late Sunday night in Middletown, according to police.
Police responded to the 1100 block of Town Colony Drive around 11:30 p.m. on the report of an armed robbery. The victim and his girlfriend were unloading items from his red 2015 Honda CRV (New York registration EPE7242), when a red Dodge Charger pulled up, according to Lt. Brian Hubbs.
Two men got out of the Charger (Connecticut registration BE51883) and approached the victim.

“One suspect pointed a handgun at the victim, instructing him to empty his pockets and leave all the property in his vehicle,” Hubbs wrote in a news release. “The victim complied and was not injured. Both suspects got into his Honda and left the area.”
A third man in the Charger remained in the driver’s seat and followed the Honda out of the apartment complex.

Middletown police notified surrounding towns of the robbery, and officers later learned that the suspect vehicle had been stolen out of Rocky Hill, according to Hubbs.
Hubbs said the same vehicle was suspected to be involved in an armed robbery in Southington earlier that day and another in Plainville after the Middletown incident.
The victim had two cell phones in his vehicle and used the location services to place one phone in the area of Linwood Street in New Britain and the other on Corbin Avenue in New Britain, according to Hubbs.
New Britain police responded to those areas and found the stolen Charger, according to Hubbs.
“The vehicle was parked on the road and unoccupied at the time,” Hubbs said. “The victim’s Honda CRV has not been recovered and it is believed the suspects discarded his cell phones to avoid detection.
“We are working to identify the suspects in this case.”
