The man is also accused of telling an EMT that he would "stab him through his heart" and tampering with evidence, according to police.

Middletown, CT — A Middletown man is accused of attacking his neighbor with a knife and later telling a Hunters EMT that he would “stab him through his heart,” according to police.
Middletown Police arrested James Fahey, 24, of 693 Washington Street, following the early morning incident on Saturday, July 9.
Middletown Police responded to the Washington Arms apartment building at about 5:30 a.m. on the report of an assault with injuries.

The responding officers had been at the accused’s apartment earlier that morning for a “suspicious activity” call, according to the police report.

While investigating that incident, police identified the man as Fahey and said he appeared to suffer from potential mental disorders, according to the report.
When police returned to the apartment building, they found the victim suffering from a large laceration on the rear of his left leg and he was transported to Middlesex Hospital for treatment.

Fahey denied he was involved with the knife attack, but was taken into custody, according to the report.
Police said that Fahey had changed his clothes, in what they believe was an attempt to tamper with evidence.
Fahey was also found to have drips of blood on his left foot and told police they came from when “that guy started screaming and glass came out of the ground and cut me,” according to the report.
A weapon wasn’t discovered at the scene.
Police found broken reflective pieces of glass on the ground in front of the entrance to both apartments and the victim later said that his peephole was broken when Fahey attempted to break into his apartment.
In a sworn statement, the victim confirmed to police that Fahey had attacked him with a knife unprovoked and that the attack caused him to “fear for his life and to experience great physical pain,” according to the report.
Police said Fahey was uncooperative during the booking process and damaged a computer cable in the room, which rendered the computer useless, and later threatened a Hunters EMT and said he would “stab him through his heart,” according to the report.
Fahey was arrested on charges of second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a dangerous weapon, tampering with evidence, disorderly conduct and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.
He was released on a $100,000 non-surety bond and is due in court on July 22.
