North End Action Team seeks Community Director

The North End Action Team (NEAT), a resident/activist community organization in Middletown's North End, seeks a Community Director. The Director, working with an Advisory Board, has responsibility for oversight of all of NEAT's initiatives, including direct outreach to the members of the neighborhood and partners to address critical quality of life issues, creating and distributing communications, creating a consistent presence physically in the community and on social media, seeking grants and other forms of support, and researching public policy issues and revitalization strategies relevant to the neighborhood.

We seek an individual who embraces challenges, works well with diverse populations, and can manage multiple projects. The individual must be knowledgeable about the North End of Middletown or have experience working in a similar neighborhood. Previous experience working with nonprofits, community organizing, program management, knowledge of computer applications and database management systems, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to write and speak Spanish are all highly desirable.

The position is for 35 hours per week, $18-23 per hour, depending on experience. This is a minimum one year position, after which the candidate will be reviewed with the hope of continuing based on successful performance and secured funding.
