2015 goPINK Project raises more than $23,000 for Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center

A group of participants in the sixth annual goPINK project recently presented a check for $23,488 to the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center, to support integrative medicine therapy for breast cancer patients. Local hair salons, other businesses and schools participated in this year’s fundraiser. The salons offered pink hair extensions and t-shirts for $20 each; businesses donated a portion of their sales; and schools raised money through special events for the month-long program in October. Since 2010, the annual event has raised $126,891 for the Middlesex Hospital Comprehensive Breast Center. The two women holding the check in the photo, Georgi Marino (left) and Ellie Gagnon (right), of EG Salon in Middletown, founded the goPINK project.
