Plantluck Dinner/Conversation - Making Middletown Sustainable

April 1st And -2nd

On April 1-2, 2020, Jeff Biggers—celebrated author, journalist, historian, playwright, and leader of the Climate Narrative Project—will come to Middletown for an exciting two-day event! Biggers will explore creative storytelling as a way to bridge the gap between climate science and activism. Biggers' visit will include a multimedia performance envisioning a transition for Middletown to a sustainable "regenerative city" with strong campus-community connections.

On day two, we will host a community-wide plant-based (vegan) potluck dinner (a "plantluck") to inspire one another to turn ideas about Middletown's future into action. Community "plantluck" dinner and conversation - Middletown and Wesleyan in the age of climate emergency, Thursday, April 2, 6-8 PM.

Start at MAC650 Gallery, 650 Main St. Middletown. Come enjoy a plant-based meal and community conversation about how we can come together as a community to address sustainability issues in our Middletown community, including climate change, racial justice, food insecurity, affordable housing, and access to the arts. Following the opening program, dinners will be held at MAC650 and the Community Health Center at 675 Main Street, Middletown, CT.

Storyteller Jeff Biggers will start our conversations off with some inspiration - come to get excited about the future we can build together! Please bring a plant-based (vegan) appetizer, main dish, or dessert to share - families are welcome! Fresh fruit, carrots and hummus, or whole grain bread are welcomed options if you're not sure what food to bring.

This Plantluck is a "special edition" of regular monthly plantluck dinners at the Community Health Center in Middletown, hosted by Connecticut Lifestyle Medicine (formerly The Plant Partners).
