The Real Jane Austen: Book Discussion and Lunch
A lively luncheon discussion of Paula Byrne's The Real Jane Austen will be held at the Inn at Middletown on August 9.

A lively book discussion, complete with lunch, will be held at the Inn at Middletown on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at 1 p.m. The Real Jane Austen, by Paula Byrne, is an innovative biography that, instead of the typical narrative, explores Jane through 18 objects connected with her: a topaz cross, an East Indian shawl, an oil painting, red cushions . . . The afternoon will include not only an excellent discussion but also an intermission of Jane Austen entertainment (with audience participation) and lunch, including soup or fresh fruit, mesclun green salad, chips, assorted deli meats an cheeses, rolls and breads, cookies and brownies, coffee, tea, and soda. The event is sponsored by the Connecticut Region of the Jane Austen Society of North America; registration and payment can be made online at jasnact.org. The Inn is located at 70 Main Street, Middletown, CT. The book is available on Amazon here-
