Xavier Senior Commits to Stonehill for Baseball

One of Brett Madore's many achievements was being featured in the Connecticut Edition of ESPN High School Magazine as an All State Top Position Player.

 

senior Brett Madore of Bristol recently signed a National Letter of Intent with Stonehill College to play Division II baseball in the Northeast 10 conference under the direction of Coach Pat Boen. 

Headmaster Brother Brian Davis, C.F.X. Principal Brendan Donohue, Director of Athletics Tony Jaskot `69 and Baseball Coach and Director of Guidance Richard Magner `69 represented the school at the signing ceremony at Xavier.

Brett was joined by members of his family: his sister, Morgan Lee Madore, Lisa and Rob Gillette, his mom and stepdad along with his dad Pete Madore and Tracy Cournoyer, stepmother.

Stonehill is a selective Catholic college located near Boston in the town of Easton. Brett has played baseball at Xavier since he was a freshman. As a sophomore, he played on the varsity team as a middle infielder. One of Brett's biggest highlights while a member of Xavier baseball was being featured in the Connecticut Edition of ESPN High School Magazine as an All State Top Position Player, "a dominant two-way player," as a starting short stop and a relief pitcher.

Brett says he has been privileged to play for, and be coached by, Coaches Magner, Fredericks, Cerreta, and Jaskot. Summer months for Brett have been playing baseball for Team CT Baseball in which his Team won a National Tournament in Richmond Virginia in 2011.  Academically, Brett was recognized as a member of the Principal's List in his sophomore year. The Principal’s List is comprised of students who had a superior final grade point average for the full school year with no grade below C on the final average in a major course.

Brett is looking forward to college ball while pursuing a degree in criminology.
