St. Luke’s Community Services is very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $2,000 grant by the Griswold Cares Foundation for 2015! This grant has been awarded to support St. Luke’s efforts in continuing to provide supportive volunteer services and transportation to older adults and veterans living in Middlesex County, namely our Friendly Volunteer (Visitors & Grocery Shoppers) and VETS4VETS programs.
Since the early 1980’s, St. Luke’s as a social services agency has sought to develop and grow volunteer based programming that supports our longstanding mission of helping older adults and veterans remain in the community and enjoy a good quality of life in Middlesex County.

“It takes a village …” to provide home care for seniors, too. The senior care “Village” includes assisted living, the geography (what’s where), all care providers (who does what), academia (hope in research), finance (who pays) and the arts community: arts and healing go hand in hand. It reaches those who need immediate care and those who will need support, especially family caregivers. We care for baby boomers and their parents, keeping them healthy with independence through home care.”

St. Luke’s firmly believes that this new grant award and community partnership stemming from the Griswold Cares Foundation is fitting because of our shared missions…
“The Griswold Cares Foundation is committed to its mission to provide grants to non-profit organizations to build, strengthen and sustain programs that enhance the quality of life for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities who choose to age in place. Our vision is a future in which all seniors and adults with disabilities, including those with limited financial means, will have the opportunity to live a full life and age with dignity in the comfort of their own homes.”
Amanda S. Hope, Executive Director
Again, as this just adds to our celebration of our 150thAnniversary year, St. Luke’s humbly thanks the Board of Directors for the Griswold Cares Foundation and local Griswold Home Care branch for supporting our mission on behalf of all our volunteers and clients in the greater Middlesex community.
