Thank the Community for their Generous Outpouring for the Youth at Solnit Children’s Center - Middletown
Thank you article for holiday donations
Middletown, CT – January 10, 2017: The Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many generous donors who provided our youth with a very special holiday this year. From gift cards, wish lists, toys, games, clothing, art and fitness supplies, to donations to the activity fund, the generosity was just overwhelming. We would like to publicly thank these donors:
These donations came from businesses, individuals, churches, schools, and organizations. Some of our donors have been giving for 20 years!

- St. Elizabeth Seton Church donated portable DVD players, cd boom boxes, alarm clocks and more.
- Liberty Bank of Middletown held a party for the girls in residential treatment and also made a cash donation. Over the past year they also provided our youth with beautiful welcome baskets upon admission.
- An anonymous donor from Old Lyme donated 10 bikes for our North and South campuses.
- A Mortgage Consultant from Norcom Company gave us a cash donation, cash donation from a community collection, and toys collected at a special fundraiser he for us.
- An insurance broker provided a check to the Heart Gallery Youth.
- Individual donors gave generously out of their own pockets.
- We would also like to thank Youth Ministry at St. Pius Church and CCD class for completing the fleece blankets this year that are given to each youth upon admission.
For youth who don’t have the opportunity to go home or don’t have a home, this is especially meaningful. It is so important for them to have good memories to build on, and to see that people care about them.
Some donors give all year with funds to fill our welcome baskets, making fleece blankets for admission, or simply donating to the youth activity fund so that they can go to movies, field trips and more.
