Soboleski, highly intoxicated, was yelling and swearing, police say. A staff person told officers he was eating inside at a table when Soboleski stuck his fingers in his food. The staff told Soboleski to leave and he refused, the report says, started swearing and acting belligerent.

Soboleski told officers he was just reaching for food when the staff person head-butted him for no reason. He then said he was going to “sue Middletown and the bar for $150,000 so he could buy a house,” the report says.

Throughout, Soboleski never stopped yelling, which the report says, “made it difficult for [the officer] to investigate the incident where he claimed to be a victim.” Police asked Soboleski many times to quiet down, the report says, but he refused, attracting attention from across the street.

Soboleski’s friend and girlfriend asked him to leave repeatedly but, police say, he continued to threaten them with “huge lawsuits.”

He was charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace.
