Washington DC Homicide Suspect Formally Extradited From Middletown
A suspect in a February homicide in Washington DC was arrested in Middletown.

WASHINGTON, CT — Washington DC Metropolitan Police said they have formally taken custody of a man arrested in Middletown in connection with a homicide case.
According to an incident report, the case dates back to Feb. 2, when, at 3:07 a.m., Third District officers responded to a 911 hang-up in the 3100 block of 16th Street, Northwest.
Officers located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence and she was pronounced dead at the scene after DC Fire and EMS responded, according to an incident report.

The woman was then identified as 27-year-old Nyesha Walden-Hatcher, of Northwest, DC., police said.
On Feb. 10, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Connecticut Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force took 35-year-old Tyjuan Bazemore into custody in Middletown, police said.

On Tuesday of this week, Bazemore was extradited to the custody of police in Washington and the MPD Fugitive Unit and transported to the Homicide Branch where he was formally charged with second-degree murder while armed, police said.
