Woman Attempts To Rob CVS, Leaves When Manager Can’t Open Register: Middletown Police

The suspect, who said she had a gun, offered to buy a magazine when the manager said she couldn't open the register without a transaction.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown woman is accused of attempting to rob a CVS after implying that she had a gun. The suspect didn’t end up taking anything, however, after the manager said she couldn’t open the register without a purchase being made. The suspect offered to buy a magazine but didn’t have the money to pay for it and left while saying “I’ll be back,” according to the police report.

Police responded to the CVS on Main Street Extension just before midnight on April 14 on the report of an attempted robbery. Police were advised that the suspect was a female wearing a black sweatshirt and had implied that she was in the possession of a gun, according to the police report.
