CT Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Part Of State
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for a portion of the state. Here's what you need to know.
CONNECTICUT — The weather forecast offers a mixed bag of news for us today. This morning and early afternoon we can expect partly sunny skies and then around 5 p.m. rain and thunderstorms are expected to take over until early Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Fairfield County for the chance of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and early evening as a cold front moves through. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts, the weather service said. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Litchfield County.
For the rest of the state there is a chance for rain and thunderstorms too, and a marginal risk that some storms may be severe.

The cold front will usher in much cooler weather on Sunday, as temperatures will be at least 10-15 degrees cooler than our recent warm weather. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the low to mid 60s but it will be sunny.
We will have to watch for a gusty thunderstorm this evening after about 5 p.m. The severe weather threat is low but a few storms could produce some locally strong wind, lightning, and heavy rain. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/5m4pTWxbOu
