Milford Rotary invites members of the public to come learn about and take part in Milford's shell fishing industry aboard a commercial fishing vessel.
The folks at Briarpatch Enterprises, Inc. (suppliers of native shellfish) will take people out on two of their vessels to fish for clams and scallops. 100% of the money we raise from those who go will be donated to the Milford Marine Institute and Wildlife Center. The Captains will talk about the fishing industry in the Sound, and it will be a hands on fishing experience for those who want hands on.
The event will take place Saturday, September 10 · 7:30am - 12:00pm.
This is a weather permitting event with a "rain date" on the 24th. If there is a light rain and calm seas we will still go. This is for people 13 and older (as they only have life preservers for adults). Appropriate attire and footwear required.
$25 per person on a first paid basis. Maximum 30 people, so book early to secure a spot. Please contact Tracy L. O'Brien at (203) 877-8587.
