Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern CT Saturday/Sunday
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for all of southern Connecticut.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — Snow fell across the region Saturday morning, and now the big story is the strong wind gusts and bitterly cold temperatures.
The National Weather Service said in New London County the snow intensity will decrease as it received 3 to 6 inches of snowfall. Eastern parts of the region received significantly more snow that other portions of southern Connecticut.
In Fairfield and New Haven counties, a wind advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to midnight, and an extreme cold warning is in effect from 1 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m. Sunday.

"For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero expected....Coldest wind chills tonight into early Sunday morning," the weather service said.
In Middlesex and New London counties, the wind advisory is in effect until midnight, and an exteme cold warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to 1 p.m Sunday.

This Afternoon: A 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy and cold, with a steady temperature around 12. Wind chill values between -5 and zero. Northwest wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 1. Wind chill values between -10 and -15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 13 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 49 mph.
Sunday: Sunny and cold, with a high near 18. Wind chill values between -5 and -15. Northwest wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 2. Wind chill values between -5 and zero. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 28. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 35.
