Juvenile Charged With Assault On Officer In Milford Street Takeover

A juvenile is facing charges that she assaulted a police officer during a street takeover incident, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A juvenile female was charged in connection with the assault of a police officer during a street takeover in December. She is the fourth person to be arrested in the case.

The juvenile was taken into custody Thursday and charged with inciting a riot, interfering with an officer, unlawful assembly, and conspiracy/assault on a police officer. Her name and address were withheld due to her age.

The incident started when a police officer responded to the Stop & Shop parking lot at 855 Bridgeport Ave. on Dec. 9 at 1:45 a.m.

The parking lot was occupied by several vehicles and more than 100 spectators.

Several people confronted the officer who arrived at the parking lot. The officer was surrounded by a crowd then assaulted and injured, police said.

Fireworks and M-80s were set off at the officer's patrol vehicle. Police also released a video of the incident.

A juvenile was arrested last month and charged with attempt at assault of a public safety personnel, interfering with a police officer, first-degree rioting, and unlawful assembly. A Bloomfield man, Malik Robinson, was also charged with racing (street takeover).

Anthony Deems, Jr., 19, of Levittown, PA, was charged recently with first-degree riot, unlawful assembly, and interfering with an officer.
