Sentence Handed Down For Embezzling Former Senior Center Director From Milford
Sarah Muoio was arrested on larceny charges in 2016 in connection with the theft from the Derby-based facility.

DERBY, CT — Sarah Muoio, the former director of the Derby Senior Center, was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation under a court rehabilitation program last week in connection with theft of as much as $30,000 from the facility, reports the Valley Independent Sentinel.
The Milford resident avoids prison time if she stays out of trouble for the two years, and she must pay back $10,000. She also must complete a total of 400 hours of community service during the period and not handle money for any group for which she is assigned.
In a statement to the court, Derby Mayor Anita Dugatto disagreed with the sentencing, instead seeking a harsher punishment.
